Akbar Shokouhi

Prior to founding QThink, Akbar Shokouhi held various senior management level positions with Cadence Design Systems, Inc., Applied Micro Circuits Corporation and Unisys Corporation. Mr. Shokouhi brings to QThink over 18 years of ASIC and mixed-signal design, semiconductor technology development, leadership, management, venture capital, and entrepreneurial experience. Mr. Shokouhi received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Osmania University. Mr. Shokouhi serves on multiple venture capital, boards of directors and corporate advisory boards, and is a member of the San Diego Telecom Council.
Grant Miller
Chief Financial Officer
Grant Miller joined Qthink in 2008 and brings more
than 20 years senior financial management expertise.
Miller is experienced with Technology and Services
oriented growth companies, developing financial
infrastructure, strategic planning, capital
formation, cash management, acquisitions, and the
tactical execution required for rapid growth.
He has been CFO and VP Operations for both
public and private companies with domestic and
international multi-site operations. He has held
senior positions with Time Warner, Scubapro, USA
Broadband, Alitum, and Growth Management Solutions.
Miller holds an MBA from the University of San
Diego, is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with CONNECT,
and a Business Advisor with Pacific Community
Ventures.
Urban Jangren
Vice President of Engineering
Urban Jangren joined QThink in January of 2006. Mr.
Jangren brings to QThink over 25 years experience in
the IC design industry including front-to-back SoC
design, engineering management, and operations
management. Prior to joining QThink, Mr. Jangren
held various technical and senior management
positions at Intel Corporation, Cadence Design
Systems, Unisys Corporation and Ericsson. Mr.
Jangren has extensive experience managing product
development teams for the communications,
networking, and multimedia markets. Mr. Jangren
received his Masters Degree in Electrical
Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology
and has also completed the Management and Leadership
Program at the University of California, San Diego.
Joe Shah
Vice President of Business Development and Sales,
Silicon Valley Operations
Joe Shah joined QThink in August 2002. Mr. Shah brings with him over 29 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including ASIC test, product and design engineering, manufacturing, and operations. Prior to joining QThink, Mr. Shah held various technical and senior management positions at Cadence, National Semiconductor and Ferranti Semiconductor (UK). At Cadence, Mr. Shah was responsible for the COT product line and supply chain management. Later, he focused on increasing market share of EDA tools in the COT market. At National Semiconductor he was responsible for establishing a very successful military-Aerospace ASIC business unit. Mr. Shah received his B.S.E.E degree in 1975 from the Bolton Institute of Technology, England.
Bill Lees
Vice President of Program Office
Bill Lees joined QThink in January 2000. Mr. Lees brings to QThink over 17 years of high-level technical and program management experience from Cadence Design Systems, Inc. and Unisys Corporation. Mr. Lees has extensive experience managing system-on-chip design projects for the communications, networking, and multimedia markets. Mr. Lees holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University. He is currently a certified member of the Project Management Institute and has earned the designation of Project Management Professional.
Bryan Heard
Chief Technology Officer
Bryan Heard joined QThink in April 1999. Mr. Heard brings to QThink over 22 years experience in the IC design industry, including significant front-to-back ASIC design, EDA tool development, EDA tool integration, and design process methodology development. Mr. Heard has extensive hands-on experience with software from all the major commercial EDA suppliers, as well as internally developed tools, having developed many chip designs across a broad range of product applications. Prior to joining QThink, Mr. Heard held various technical and management level positions at Unisys Corporation and Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Mr. Heard holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, from the University of California, San Diego.
